sadācāraḥ

sadācāraḥ - "The conduct that leads to and driven by Truth is sadācāraḥ"

Here we explore it as expounded by Ādi Śaṅkarācārya. If there is divinity in us, it must be revealed. 

॥ श्रीः ॥

सच्चिदानन्दकन्दाय जगदङ्कुरहेतवे ।
सदोदिताय पूर्णाय नमोऽनन्ताय विष्णवे ॥१॥

saccidānandakandāya jagadaṅkurahetave sadoditāya pūrṇāya namo’nantāya viṣṇave

Interwoven in this whole Existence
This finite seeks blessings of Infinite
The cause of all movable, immovable
The source of Awareness and Bliss
Humble Salutations
To ever risen, ever full śrī Viṣṇu*
Bless my efforts, bless my efforts!

*(That pervades all)

सर्ववेदान्तसिद्धान्तैर्ग्रथितं निर्मलं शिवम् ।
सदाचारं प्रवक्ष्यामि योगिनां ज्ञानसिद्धये ॥२॥

sarvavedāntasiddhāntairgrathitaṃ nirmalaṃ śivam sadācāraṃ pravakṣyāmi yogināṃ jñānasiddhaye

Alas! as per values

So, Sadācāraḥ, I explain
To get some traction
Expounded by all
Kind Seers of Truth
This path Is —
Purifying and Auspicious
For a yogī's success
It is verily propitious

प्रातःस्मरामि देवस्य सवितुर्भर्ग आत्मनः ।
वरेण्यं तद्धियो यो नश्चिदानन्दे प्रचोदयात् ॥३॥

prātaḥsmarāmi devasya saviturbharga ātmanaḥ vareṇyaṃ taddhiyo yo naścidānande pracodayāt

First thing at dawn
I contemplate
On That effulgent One
The Self of resplendent Sun
May That Excellence
Inspire my intellect
Aligning to Its ways
May I move towards
Consciousness-Bliss
As I live my earthly days

अन्वयव्यतिरेकाभ्यां जाग्रत्स्वप्नसुषुप्तिषु ।
यदेकं केवलं ज्ञानं तदेवास्मि परं बृहत् ॥४॥

anvayavyatirekābhyāṃ jāgratsvapnasuṣuptiṣu yadekaṃ kevalaṃ jñānaṃ tadevāsmi paraṃ bṛhat

I dreamt
I slept
I am awake
In mutually absent states
'I' remain ever present
With this logic
of invariable-concomitance
Dawns Knowledge —
All illuminator
Supreme Truth 'I am'

ज्ञानाज्ञानविलासोऽयं ज्ञानाज्ज्ञाने च शाम्यति ।
ज्ञानाज्ञाने परित्यज्य ज्ञानमेवावशिष्यते ॥५॥

jñānājñānavilāso’yaṃ jñānājjñāne ca śāmyati jñānājñāne parityajya jñānamevāvaśiṣyate

In association of
Consciousness and nescience
Three states of experience
Sportingly play their games
But when I renounce
Knowing and the known
The Knower —
Conscious 'I' alone remains

अत्यन्तमलिनो देहो देही चात्यन्तनिर्मलः ।
असङ्गोऽहमिति ज्ञात्वा शौचमेतत्प्रचक्षते ॥६॥

atyantamalino deho dehī cātyantanirmalaḥ asaṅgo’hamiti jñātvā śaucametatpracakṣate

With phelgm, foul smells
The body is so impure
and, The Owner, Self —
Is extremely pure
Strange is this association
Detachment, then
Is my immediate purification

मन्मनो मीनवन्नित्यं क्रीडत्यानन्दवारिधौ ।
सुस्नातस्तेन पूतात्मा सम्यग्विज्ञानवारिणा ॥७॥

manmano mīnavannityaṃ krīḍatyānandavāridhau susnātastena pūtātmā samyagvijñānavāriṇā

My mind like a fish
Always sports
In thy ocean of Bliss
In the perfect waters
of Self Knowledge
Purifying self
I am well bathed

अथाघमर्षणं कुर्यात्प्राणापाननिरोधतः ।
मनः पूर्णे समाधाय मग्नकुम्भो यथार्णवे ॥८॥

athāghamarṣaṇaṃ kuryātprāṇāpānanirodhataḥ manaḥ pūrṇe samādhāya magnakumbho yathārṇave

Ego pot immersed
Fully in Your waters
Next i perform
Expiation of sins
By restraining breaths
Those go out
Those come in
In realisation —
As without so within
